Why Regrets Over Not Getting International Health Insurance Is Draining

The “what if’s” and “why not” on international health insurance is always a plaguing issue. Times when the economy is weak, we prefer to hold on to our dollars, and wait for better days. The problem is, because the economy is weak, some businesses cut corners. Are you willing to risk your life, or that of a member of your family on the assumption that nothing bad will happen?

Regardless about the additional expense of travel insurance, the question that needs to be answered is not whether to book it or not. Rather, the issue is if traveling without international health insurance is going to be worth the stress and worry? Do you really want to be crossing borders and seas without this kind of protection? Just thin

Top 7 Anti Theft Devices for Cheaper Insurance

Almost every insurance provider offers less expensive insurance when anti-theft devices are installed on a vehicle. There is no industry standard for how much these discounts should be, but it is worth asking about when signing up for a policy. Some savings may actually pay for the actual cost of these devices in insurance savings in a short period of time.

1. The Club

Even though it has been years since its introduction, the Club remains the top choice of mechanical steering wheel locks found anywhere in the world. The tough steel construction prevents most attempts to saw or hammer the Club loose. Newer versions include solid steel hooks and laser encrypted keys, and the manufacturer includes a $1,000 guarantee against the Club being compromised.

Both the Motor Insurers’ Bureau and DVLA are working together to identify the uninsured vehicles driving on the UK roads.

The motorists with uninsured vehicles will receive a letter of warning first telling them about their vehicle uninsured status, which might cause them a huge fine. Pet Cancer Story: Rex and Maddy, mixed breed cats

Another pet cancer story in our series, this time from Beth D, Havertown PA.

Rex and Maddy came to me as litter mates almost 16 years ago. They were born in Limerick PA, home of a nuclear power plant. We always wondered if that would have any bearing on their lives. At around age 12, Maddy began to have a weepy eye, but was otherwise still her normal self. I eventually took her to our vet who referred her to an ophthalmologist. He couldn’t find any major problem, had me put drops in her eyes and had me follow-up with my vet in a week. At her follow-up visit, my vet insisted that there was a problem and called to consult with the ophthalmologist. B

Claim example: lymphoma in 3 year old mixed breed cat

Continuing on with our look at cancer in pets, here is a series of treatments for Coney, a 3 year old (when diagnosed)mixed breed cat, with Anterior MediastinalLymphoma (which is a lump in the chest cavity).

Coneys policy has a $500 annual deductible and a 35% copay, plus a $10,000 annual maximum, which keeps the premiums down (around $10 a month)butthe total claim payoutis about half the cost. If hed had a 20% copay (premiums around $13 a month), the payout would have been $542 higher ($2,888.76).

Thats why I always encourage the lower copay if you can afford it – it reduces the variability of your costs if you have big claims.

You can see that Coney had her initial treatment from August 2008 through toApril 2009.She tolerated it well and only had her whiskers drop out, which is common for a cat on chemotherapy.
