Is Your California Auto Insurance Slacking?
Is Your California Auto Insurance Slacking?
Get the Coverage You Need BEFORE Disaster Strikes
NOW is when you need to make sure you’ve got great insurance coverage, not when you’re sitting in rush hour traffic. |
When would you say you need good, strong California auto insurance the most? When you’re stuck in an accident out on Route 66, right? Wrong-o! By the time you’re in an accident and you actually have to start wheeling and dealing with your auto insurance claims it’s far too late to start worrying about your coverage. The most important time to make sure your insurance isn’t falling down on the job is before you ever slide behind the wheel.
When Enough Just Isn’t Enough
When it comes to your California auto insurance it’s a classic case of “just enough” isn’t enough. California minimum insurance guidelines state that every driver has to carry a minimum of 15/30/5 insurance, but really? Is $5,000 always going to be enough to pay for the damages that are incurred by other cars and various pieces of public property as the result of an accident?
And have you SEEN what they’re charging for Emergency Room visits in California hospitals these days? It’s enough to make a grown man get down on his knees and beg for mercy!
Points to Ponder…
When you’re talking about auto insurance coverage you always have the same points to consider. When you’re in an accident (that you caused) you’re going to be responsible for:
Repairs to your car.
Repairs to the other car.
Medical bills for your passengers.
Medical bills for the other car’s driver and passengers.
Your medical bills.
Damage to property other than your vehicles.
That can run up a pretty tidy sum in and of itself, but that’s not all you have to worry about. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of drivers running around out there without any form of California auto insurance coverage whatsoever. Why? There are many reasons, the most common of which is rapidly auto insurance rates and the way those rates can stretch well beyond an individual’s budget. There is low income auto insurance available in California, but since they haven’t taken advantage of it yet you’re going to be stuck fighting them in court to get the money you need to pay the bills ran up by the accident they caused.
Of course, somewhere in there you’re probably going to end up paying for your own repairs, since you have to have a car. It’s a vicious cycle.
The California Auto Insurance Policy You REALLY Need
When you’re out cruising you shouldn’t have to depend on minimum liability coverage and the (occasionally nonexistent) responsibility of other drivers to keep your financial assets firmly in the bank. The California auto insurance policy you really need will include liability of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident (just to be safe-your auto insurance rates shouldn’t be affected too badly) as well as comprehensive and collision coverage, uninsured motorist coverage and, if you’re currently living without health insurance, medical insurance to help pick up your expenses after your accident. (Most auto insurance companies offer this as a standard add on to your policy.)
The time to make sure your California auto insurance is up to snuff isn’t after you’ve already found out it’s not going to cut it, but before it has the chance to negatively impact your assets. (In other words, before you’ve emptied out your bank account to pay for the damages.) Pick up the phone and call your auto insurance agent today, before it’s far too late.
