Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas-and Save Money on Your Ohio Auto Insurance While You’re At It!
This is it! The big day is almost here. Your kids are probably already sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night to make sure Santa’s not making any practice runs they’re missing out on! (If they haven’t already come up with that one, you might not want to give them any ideas!) By now you’re probably done with your Christmas shopping. With the holidays in full swing, however, it might be time to think about giving a gift to yourself-namely, the gift of cheap Ohio auto insurance!

Oh sure, it’s not as cool as the latest gaming system or James Patterson novel. (I hear good things.) It’s not nearly as exciting as wandering downstairs on Christmas morning and seeing the 27″ TV you’ve been lusting over since last Christmas! Since your Ohio auto insurance premiums are somewhere near the top of your “necessary evil” list when it comes to monthly expenses, however, finding a way to trim down your premiums would go a long way toward keeping your budget within budget and stocking up that Christmas Club account for next year!
So what’s the best way to save on Ohio auto insurance this Christmas? First and foremost, be very, very careful while you’re out driving. There are tons of maniacs scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping, get to the next party, get home from work to trim the tree and basically heading in eighteen directions at once without bothering to check for traffic coming from any of them! Don’t be that person. You want to be über careful when you’re out driving. Becoming a statistic stinks at the best of times, but becoming a statistic over the holidays…well, you just don’t want to go there!
Next, let’s talk about raising your deductibles. How high are they right now? Most auto insurance companies will set your deductibles somewhere between $200 and $1,000 an incident. I’ll give you hint-the closer you’re swinging to $200, the higher your premiums are going to be! You don’t want to raise your deductibles so high you don’t have a prayer of coming up with the money if you’re ever actually in an accident, but if you can start a savings account and put $10-20 a month in there you should find that paying $500-600 in deductibles is well within your price range-as is reaping the benefits that go with it!
Finally, how much coverage are you carrying? No, I’m not about to suggest you start slashing and hacking away at your auto insurance coverage until calling it coverage is…overly generous! State minimum requirements never carry your coverage far enough. A lot of Ohio auto insurance companies tend to offer “extras” along with their standard coverage that you really don’t need and that aren’t going to do anything other than stretch your already beleaguered budget farther than it already is. Check for things like emergency roadside assistance, extra medical coverage and rental insurance that you can get from somewhere else for half the price.
Your checkbook will thank you, and so will all your family and friends when you’ve finally got a little money to splurge next Christmas!
