Cluttered vehicles attract thieves

A leading car insurance company in UK conducted a survey on three thousand female drivers about the cleaning of the interiors of their cars. The results were astonishing. 20 percent women never cleaned their cars while 78 percent women were embarrassed about their car cleanliness from inside. 18 percent women said they take professional or voluntary help from family or friends to clean their cars.
It was very common to notice empty food wrappers, cans, bottles, old parking tickets, empty cigarette packs, old newspapers and magazines in the cars. According to car insurance experts, leaving your car littered attracts thieves. A car full of different things will raise the hopes of the thieves to find something valuable in the car. So, the car is at more risk for a theft. Experts recommend people to keep their cars clean and tidy to avoid thieves getting lured.
Survey figures also showed that 98 percent of the women said that they will make sure that their vehicle is clean and tidy from inside and outside if they are planning to resell it. 48 percent female drivers said that they would still clean their vehicles if they had to give a lift to their clients. But these 48% women do not bother to clean their vehicles for a family member, friend or colleague. Cleaning a car from the inside was the least preferred household chore for the ladies. It followed other chores such as ironing, dusting, weekly shopping and defrosting the refrigerator.
Insurance premium offered by a company can depend on a number of unusual factors such as the results of this survey. Experts advise maintaining your vehicle excellently first and then going for a car insurance comparison by different companies.
