4 Easy Steps to Shave 10% Off Your Nevada Car Insurance
4 Easy Steps to Shave 10% Off Your Nevada Car Insurance
Is there anyone out there that doesn’t want to save money? Seriously? When you’re looking through your monthly expenses, what’s there that you absolutely can’t live without? Your house payment/rent, your car payment, your utilities and…yep, you got it…your Nevada car insurance. Would you believe that with all that, you’re actually only four small steps away from shaving 10% or more off your annual insurance premiums?
We could tell you how to save money on the rest, but we’re an insurance site.
Saving money isn’t as hard as you think-even when you live in the biggest little city in the world. |
They tend to frown on long conversations about that sort of thing! Were someone to ask me, however, I’d recommend shopping around for the best interest rate on your mortgage and/or cheaper rent, turning the lights off and trying not to waste water and paying a little extra on your car payments each month. But that’s just my humble opinion.
To get back to what we do best around here, let’s talk about how to save money on your Nevada car insurance. First and foremost, how’s your driving record looking these days? Believe it or not, keeping your driving record clean and your license unblemished is the best thing you could possibly do to keep your car insurance rates down. Every time you’re convicted of a traffic offense, whether that’s a DUI, a speeding ticket, running a red light or causing an accident, it deducts points from your license and sends your rates climbing.
Pay attention behind the wheel, and if you’ve already picked up a ticket volunteer to take a driver’s improvement class. You’ll be amazed at what those two little steps can do to keep your Nevada car insurance rates within your budget.
Secondly, how much shopping for car insurance quotes have you done? Yes, insurance shopping can be a little aggravating, but it definitely beats paying too much for coverage. Not all insurance companies are created equal, and each is going to offer you a different deal on your coverage. Hunting around gives you a best odds chance of getting the low rates you deserve.
Thirdly, have you talked to your insurance agent about discounts? You might be amazed at what will save you money on your insurance. Nevada car insurance companies will offer you discounts based on your job, your credit score, your driving record, your car’s safety and security features…the list goes on and on. And if you’re not getting all the discounts you’re entitled to, you’re paying too much.
Finally, what kind of car are you driving? The Highway Loss Data Institute publishes a list every year of cars that are involved in theft, accidents and traffic violations, and if your car’s make and model pops up on that list on a regular basis you’re going to watch your insurance rates climb through absolutely no fault of your own. While there’s not much you can do if you already own one of these cars, it pays to check out the data out there before you pick up your next vehicle.
Do all that, and you’ll be amazed find out just how low your Nevada car insurance rates can go.
