Post Office Car Insurance: 10% of parents distracted by kids in the car
With half-term approaching, many parents will be planning to take to the road for days out and family visits. However, 11% of parents admit they are frequently distracted by their children when driving, according to research from Post Office Car Insurance.
This number increases to 20% for parents with children aged between four and seven. Just 8% of parents said they are never distracted by their children.

Switching car insurer becomes a habit, claims Gocompare.com
New research from Gocompare.com shows a substantial increase in the number of consumers who now are regularly switching their car insurer over the last two year.
In December 2009, Gocompare found that 22% of Brits had switched car insurance provider, but research carried out in October this year shows this figure has jumped to 34%.
However, despite the increase in consumers shopping around for car insurance, almost a third of Brits havent switched providers for any of the 20 most common financial products in the last year including car insurance (13%), home insurance (16%), energy provider (10%), savings account (12%) and mobile phone provider (18%).
John Miles, Gocompare.coms business development director, commented: Our research shows a significant change in consumer behaviour towards their car insurer.
More drivers than ever are realising that the best way to save money on their car insurance is to compare their premium at every renewal.
However, millions of consumers are still staying with the same insurers, energy companies and banks for years, often in the mistaken belief that their loyalty will be rewarded.
The message appears to be getting through on car insurance, but there are still plenty of products where consumers are far more likely to stick with the same provider for years than switch to get a better deal.
