Why You Need Travel Insurance Every Time You Travel

Traveling can be fun and exciting, but what happens if something goes wrong? Travel insurance can help offset costs while in a foreign country.

Imagine that you are traveling to Rome with your family. Its a beautiful day in Italy. The sun is shining as you walk around seeing the sites. Youve seen the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. Youre standing on the corner, looking at all the sculptures and architecture of the city streets when you see a sidewalk vendor selling food. It smells delicious and looks good too.

“Fronting” On Car Insurance Takes Heavy Toll On Parents

Although everyone has been bearing the brunt of rising car insurance costs, it turn out that some have to bear more than others, as a Telegraph recently pointed out.

A woman who was paying an annual car insurance premium of £743 a year got a nasty surprise when her premium increased to a whopping £7000 in the course of one year. Even worse, when she tried changing her policy for a cheaper one, her insurer flatly told her that it would mean another £1000 to do so.

This catastrophic increase has a ridiculous explanation: it seems that her insurance company was under the impression that the women was acting as a front for her 23-year old son, and the reason for the stratospheric rise in the policy premium was that it should have been his name on the policy as the main driver, not hers. What are Medicare DRGs for Hospital Payment?

Medicare pays hospitals for inpatient payments based on the DRG system. Hospital charges do not mean much for most patients.

In 1983, Medicare replaced cost based reimbursement with the Prospective Payment System (PPS), where hospitals would be paid for inpatient care based on a specified payment based on the illness of the patient and the resources that were required to treat them.

Patients were assigned to categories, known as Diagnosis Related Groups, or DRGs, based why they were admitted to the hospital. The DRG system was developed at Harvard University in the 1970s, and Medicare adapted the system in order to incentivize hospitals to reduce cost.

Opposition Pushes Cheaper Premiums For Young People

The Opposition has laid down some proposals that would come as happy tidings to the UK youth, if passed. According to the Labour party’s proposals, young people now stand to enjoy lower insurance premiums on the condition that the cars they drive are used to get to college or work.

According to the Opposition, the skyrocketing car insurance rates have been “pricing young people out of driving”.

The Labour Party has called for cheaper premiums to be offered to young people in the age group of 17-24, on the basis of “work journeys only” so as to encourage them to complete their education or take up jobs.

The leading insurance experts in the country have admitted that the proposal was an interesting one but with dubious practicality.

The insurers have stated that young people under the age of 25 are the ones most likely to be involved in accidents. They also

You can also purchase insurance to cover the value of the belongings inside the house. This is both in case both house and belongings are destroyed, such as in a fire or a tornado and in case some of those belongings are stolen.

Collecting on insurance for your belongings can be tricky, though. When you’re traumatized from a break in, the last thing you need is to have your insurance claim denied. I Full post…
